Imagine a complete library dedicated solely to indie art, well look no further, a new organization called the Art House Co-op has several projects where artists from all over the world can participate and have their art displayed and then archived for future visitors. How cool is that idea? Right now they have two projects going on, the Sketchbook project (basically defined as “It’s like a concert tour but with sketchbooks”) where for a fee they send you a black sketchbook where you can fill it up according to whatever theme you choose; and, the Pockets project where you send in all the clutter accumulated in your pockets, which is later on used as part of an on-going art installation. // Imagínate una biblioteca dedicada solamente al arte independiente, pues no busques más. Una nueva organización llamada Art House Co-op tiene varios proyectos donde artistas de alrededor del mundo pueden participar y tener su arte exhibido y despúes guardado para las futuras generaciones. La idea esta super genial, ahora mismo tienen dos proyectos abiertos, el primero se llama Sketchbook Project ( lo llaman “un tour de conciertos para cuadernos de dibujo) y el segundo se llama Pockets, donde puedes mandar todos las cositas que residen en tus bolsillos. Luego usan estos artículos para una instalación de arte.

I just recently found this amazing shop called LAMA (Latin America in the Modern Age) owned by talented Ecuadorian designer Christina Martinez, which sells the coolest Latin-inspired products, from kitchen items to paper goods. I’m so excited I found this store, especially since Christina travels around Latin America to bring this unique items to her store. The cool thing is that many of her products are handmade by local artisans & designers from their respective countries. Check it out!

Recientemente encontré esta super tienda web llamada LAMA (Latinoamérica en el Era Moderna) abierta por la talentosa diseñadora Ecuatoriana Christina Martinez. LAMA vende productos con inspiración latina, desde cerámica para tu cocina hasta productos de papeleria. Estoy super emocionada que encontré LAMA, especialmente porque Christina viaja alrededor de Latinoamérica para encontrar estos productos únicos para su tienda web. Lo más super es que muchos de sus productos son hechos a mano por artesanos y diseñadores de sus propios países. Date una visita!

Chipojo is a really cool Etsy store owned by visual artists Coni & Hugo who reside in beautiful Barcelona, Spain. Their prints are so quirky & cool, it almost reminds of those beautiful abstract paintings from master Pablo Picasso. Check them out!

Chipojo es una tienda Etsy que vende las creaciones impresas de los artistas Coni y Hugo que son originarios de la bella Barcelona, España. Sus impresos son super divinos, me recuerdan mucho del estilo abstracto del gran pintor Picasso con un uso de colores super lindos y vibrantes.

Today I found this really awesome Brazilian illustrator Yasmin Mundaca who is based out of Cleveland, OH who has the coolest illustrations. I love her bold sense of color & also her vintagy illustration style, which reminds of Alice in Wonderland. Check out her work in her etsy shop, Mundo Mundaca.

Hoy encontré a esta ilustradora Brazileña que se llama Yasmin Mundaca que actualmente reside en Cleveland, Ohio. Yasmin tiene unas ilustraciones fenomenales con colores brillantes y un estilo que me recuerda a el cuento de Alicia en el País de las Maravillas. Today I’m celebrating one of the two independence days of my home country, Panama. You might be wondering how does one country have two independence days, but Panama was actually ruled by two countries, first Spain, and then Colombia (which we actually call a separation not an independence). In order to celebrate it, I want you to check out this really cool etsy store, Mola Mama, that sells the most recognized Panamanian textile art called the Mola. The Mola is done by hand by the beautiful women of the Kuna tribe in Panama. They do everything from the material gathering, design & final production.

Hoy estoy celebrando unas de las dos independencias de mi patria querida, Panamá. Ustedes se preguntaran porque Panamá tiene dos independencias, bueno Panamá, como muchos países latinoamericanos, era colonia Española, y despúes de su independencia, pasó a ser parte de la Gran Colombia. Pero el 3 de noviembre declaramos nuestra separación de Colombia y nos convertimos en la hermosa República de Panamá. Y para conmemorar este día encontré esta tienda virtual de molas llamado, Mola Mama, que vende el arte textil más reconocido de mi patria. Las molas son diseñadas y cosidas a mano por nuestras bellas mujeres de la tribu Kuna.

I just love Papaya Art! They have this really unique design mixture of bold colors, collage blends & international flare that is hard to find nowadays in the stationery market. You should totally check out their product line, I wanted to buy the whole store! I love especially their name, since papaya is one of my favorite fruits from back home in Panama (especially as a shake).

¡Me encanta Papaya Art! Ellos tienen una mezcla única de colores brillantes, arte de colaje y temas internacionales que es muy difícil encontrar en el mercado de papelería. Deberian de visitar su tienda y ver su colección inmensa de productos, en lo personal yo queria comprarme la tienda entera! Me encanta especialmente su nombre, ya que la papaya es una de mis frutas favoritas en Panamá (especialmente en batido).
