I found via Pikaland this awesome Colombian graphic designer turned illustrator called Marcela Restrepo who does the most colorful & beautifully detailed illustrations. I love her indie style combined with her use of bold colors. Check out this interview about her work from Pikaland.

Encontré via Pikaland a una super diseñadora gráfica Colombiana que se volvió ilustradora llamada Marcela Restrepo. Ella dibuja unas ilustraciones super coloridas y detalladas con un estilo indie que para mi son super, super fenomenales. En el blog de Pikaland puedes encontrar una entrevista que Marcela dió acerca de sus ilustraciones.

Looking thru some of my favorite blogs, Mixed Plate & Paper Crave, I saw the awesomest letterpress house kit from 1canoe2 called Chandler Lane. I got it like 3 weeks ago and I totally love it, and its pretty easy to put together to. I saw another one last year that was also similar to this but it also included a mini garden, but I totally forgot its name. If you happen to know what kit i’m talking about, please tell me, i’m dying to get that one too.

Mirando un par de mis blogs favoritos, Mixed Plate y Paper Crave, vi un kit de casas de papel impresas de 1canoe2 super, super lindos llamado Chandler Lane. Lo compré hace como 3 semanas y me super encanta, es muy fácil de armar también. Vi otro similar a este que incluia un mini jardín pero no me acuerdo donde lo vi, pero si saben de cual estoy hablando por favor díganme. Me encantaria conseguir ese kit tambien.

Browsing thru some cool design studios, I found Mucca who designed this super cool menu for a contemporary Mexican restaurant called La Condesa in Austin. The graphics totally caught my attention because of its cool hand-lettering & the bold color combos. This is usually how outdoor graphics are done throughout Latin America, all hand-lettered with bold color combos.

Mirando diferentes estudios de diseño, encontré a Mucca quien diseño este menú super original para un restaurante mejicano llamado La Condesa localizado en Austin. Las gráficas capturaron mi atención por su uso de escritura a mano y combinaciones de colores super dinámicas. Esta técnica es popularmente usada en letreros y anuncios por toda Latinoamérica.

Going through this really cool book called Shop Image Graphics in Paris,  I found this really cool store called La Cocotte, started by a graphic designer & two interior decorators. It mainly specializes in food & cookbooks, but they have also added the coolest kitchen decor items, like these towels & canned goods stickers for your kitchen. I’m not sure if you can buy their goods from the USA, I have to do some research about that if I can figure out the french language.

Mirando este libro super interesante llamado Shop Image Graphics in Paris, que te enseña las gráficas e interiores de boutiques en Paris, encontré esta tienda que se llama La Cocotte. Este tienda fue fundada por una diseñadora gráfica y decoradoras de interiores, y se especializa en comida y libros de cocina. Pero ahora venden productos para tu cocina super lindos, como estas toallas y calcomanías. No sé si puedas comprar sus productos desde los EEUU, tendré que decifrar su fránces para ver si venden sus productos en los EEUU.

I can totally customize my portfolio, without breaking out css code books, and keep it all in a clean structure. So far I only added a few pieces, but please check it out and tell me your opinion.

Si buscas por unas plantillas fáciles de usar, que no requiera saber mucho de html y que puedas cambiar fácilmente a tu gusto, te recomiendo que uses Cargo Collective para tu portafolio web. Por ahora solo he añadido unos cuantos proyectos, pero por favor dime tu opinión.

Last Friday my job had a really nice baby shower for three of my lovely co-workers, so I got inspired and decided to make each one of them a cute little baby shower card with the them of their future nurseries. Instead of coloring my characters with color pencils, I just used Illustrator & decided to add a simple stitch pattern.

El viernes pasado mi oficina celebró un baby shower para tres de mis compañeras, asi que me inspiré y les dibuje una tarjeta a cada una con el tema respectivo de sus guarderías. En vez de colorearlos con lápices como usualmente hago, decidí usar Illustrator y les añadí un pequeño patrón de líneas.
