Hoy en mis Friday Finds encontré por medio del Give Studio blog esta tienda y proyecto virtual llamado 500 Pencils donde venden 500 lápices de colores que combina con la gama de colores que encontramos en el mundo entero. Además de los lápices de colores, la tienda también vende contenedores modernos para los lápices que también puedes usar como una vitrina artística de tus lápices.

Estas son mis nuevas ilustraciones para mi colección de tarjetas de notitas. Sus críticas son siempre bienvenidas y leídas.

I just love Papaya Art! They have this really unique design mixture of bold colors, collage blends & international flare that is hard to find nowadays in the stationery market. You should totally check out their product line, I wanted to buy the whole store! I love especially their name, since papaya is one of my favorite fruits from back home in Panama (especially as a shake).

¡Me encanta Papaya Art! Ellos tienen una mezcla única de colores brillantes, arte de colaje y temas internacionales que es muy difícil encontrar en el mercado de papelería. Deberian de visitar su tienda y ver su colección inmensa de productos, en lo personal yo queria comprarme la tienda entera! Me encanta especialmente su nombre, ya que la papaya es una de mis frutas favoritas en Panamá (especialmente en batido).

Throughout many blogs I’ve seen so many cool studios of awesome designers, but since I’m barely in the beginning stages of my paper goodies shop I could only afford a small desk with my huge Mac (and BTW, this is actually my first MAC, its used but it works really nicely), It’s small, but i’m pretty proud of it since its my space, and it signifies the beginnings of my creative journey. I just wanted to share with you my small studio so you can see that sometimes big dreams start in small studios like this, so keep being creative!

De tantos blogs que he visitado he visto muchos estudios fenomenales de diseñadores que me encantan, pero como apenas estoy empezando mi estudio de papeleria, por ahora solo puedo empezar con mi escritorio pequeño y mi computadora MAC (lo cual es mi primera computadora MAC, usada pero trabaja super bien). Es pequeño pero estoy muy orgullosa de mi mini estudio ya que es mio y tambien significa el comienzo de mi jornada creativa. Quize compartir esto con ustedes para que vean que algunas veces las ideas más grandes empiezan en pequeños espacios como este. ¡Sigue siendo creativo!

¡Hola my friends! Since this is my first calendar, I’m trying to give it my own illustration style, since I wasn’t totally happy with my earlier attempt. This time I believe that I finally reached a look that I like & that matches my brand. I decided to make my theme “tropical flowers”. My calendar is still going to be a desk calendar, but with a more simplified & colorful look of my illustration style. I’m thinking about adding on the back a space to add notes & a summary about the month’s tropical flower. Please feel free to comment.

¡Hola mis amigos! Ya que este va a ser mi primer calendario, le quise dar mi propio estilo de ilustración, lo cual es más simple y colorido. Realmente no estaba muy convencida de mi primera muestra, pero ahora si diseñé algo en lo cual estoy contenta. Decidí darle el tema de flores tropicales a mi calendario, donde en la parte de atrás voy a dejar un espacio para anotar y una pequeña explicación sobre la flor del mes. Sus criticas y opiniones están muy bienvenidas.

I know its early for my friday finds, but I just had to put this awesome illustration of Frida by Spanish designer & illustrator Silvia Gandara. She also incorporates her cute illustrations into several products in her handmade shop, check it out!

Aunque sea un poco temprano para mis “friday finds” tuve que poner esta ilustración divertida y fenomenal de Frida por la diseñadora española Silvia Gándara. Si visitas su tienda también verás productos que contienen sus ilustraciones super divertidas.

There comes a time in every teenage girl’s life where she makes that big leap into womanhood, and in the Latino culture, we celebrate that by throwing a huge “fairy tale” party that we call a Quinceañera (Sweet 15). A big, formal party that includes a choreography, catering, a big, Cinderella dress are some of the few things that are part of this important event. Obviously for such a big event, the stationery should be as spectacular, and I happened to find this awesome stationery designer, Victor Jacobo, that brings every Latina teenage girl’s dream come true, but in paper form.

Llega un momento en la vida de cada jovensita Latina donde tenemos que convertirnos de niñas a mujersitas, y en nuestra cultura lo celebramos con un fiesta formal y super espectacular que se llama la fiesta de Quince Años. Obviamente una celebración como esta necesita invitaciones espectaculares, y el diseñador Victor Jacobo tiene un portafolio con invitaciones sumamente divinas.

If you ever visit lil’ ol’ Norman, Oklahoma, you should definitely visit the Excavations museum shop inside the Sam Noble Oklahoma Natural History Museum. I just adore this shop, they carry a nice collection of handmade creations from all over the world. My favorite items are the stationery products, like this one from Papaya Art,
