very girlie recipe box

Posted September 30th, 2009 by jmivaldi and filed in design // diseño

The Sugar Paper Letterpress shop has added this really exquisite & sweet recipe box with letterpressed recipe cards include with fun die-cut tabs. I’m not a “pink” type of girl, but for this box I would make a huge exception.

One of my favorite illustrators, Ms. Jessica Hische, has started a new daily web project where she creates a decorative initial cap for her viewer’s visual pleasure. Really cool! Can’t wait until she does the letter J.

my first greeting card collection

Posted September 26th, 2009 by jmivaldi and filed in design // diseño

Hola! I finally managed to finish the first 3 of my Spanish greeting card collection that i’m working on. I  finally managed to find a style of illustration & coloring that i’m happy with. As my story page says, i’m working on creating a collection inspired in Latino culture sayings, stories & songs. Please feel free to comment!

On my daily web journey thru stationery websites, I found this cute treasure of illustrations by Denise Holmes (AKA Nisee Made). She has a very simple but classical style that is way too adorable. Love her stuff!

kids deserve good design too…

And Land of Nod totally hits the note, they have the most cutest items for kids. Beautiful & simple illustrations combined with bright, basic colors. I love their dollhouses too (BTW, i’m not pregnant in case you were wondering, i’m just one of many designers tired of mass produced big name brand items).

igloo bookshelf

If you haven’t been to the apartment therapy blog yet, you should totally check it out. They always have the coolest finds for your home (its mainly for apartments, but it can also be used for a house). I found the coolest bookshelf/office in their blog by designer Linda Bergroth. Unfortunately, I don’t think you can get it  here in the United States, but it doesn’t look that hard to build if you have carpentry skills.

While vacationing in sunny Miami I found KidRobot, a store i’ve been dying to visit! Their characters are just way awesome. If you ever go to one, prepare for an awesome visual experience! I didn’t take any pictures inside, ’cause I think that’s illegal, but check out their website.
